Sage X3 View + Query Tool



This is to show you how to create a View in Sage X3, apply the view in graphical query tool, and displaying it via navigation menu or home page.

Scenario:
We want to create a query to display product category, product code, statistical group 1, product site, available stock quantities and reject stock quantities of each sites.

Create a new Product Quantity View with query below:
SELECT ITM.TCLCOD_0, ITM.ITMREF_0, ITM.ITMDES1_0, ITM.TSICOD_0, ITM. TSICOD_1, ITF.STOFCY_0, ITV.PHYSTO_0, ITV.REJSTO_0
FROM ITMMASTER ITM
INNER JOIN ITMFACILIT ITF ON  ITF.ITMREF_0 = ITM.ITMREF_0
INNER JOIN ITMMVT ITV ON  ITV.ITMREF_0 = ITF.ITMREF_0 AND ITV.STOFCY_0 = ITF.STOFCY_0

Create a second Miscellaneous table View for group 1 (20) with query below. This is to retrieve group 1 text from miscellaneous table.

SELECT IDENT2_0, TEXTE_0 FROM SEED.ATEXTRA
WHERE IDENT1_0 = 20 AND CODFIC_0 = 'ATABDIV'
AND ZONE_0 = 'LNGDES' AND LANGUE_0 = 'ENG'

Create a query by using Graphical Query Tool at Setup > Usage > Reports > Graphical query tool:
Add Product Quantity View and Miscellaneous Table view.
Inner join Product Quantity View’s Group 1 to Miscellaneous Table View’s ID.
Add Site, Product category, Product, Available stock and reject stock from Product Quantity View.
Add Group 1 from Miscellaneous Table View.
Sort by Site, and Product.
Add range for Site to allow filtering of Site.

Click Validate and Run button, you should able to see Product quantities by site.







Add Product quantities by site query on navigation menu and home page

Once product quantities by site query is completed, you can add this query as a menu in navigation page and add it as a query gadget (menu item) in home or landing page.

To add a new menu in navigation page, you need a function to link it to query action with some parameters passed in.
Go to development > Script Dictionary > Functions
Create new ZVIEWQUERY function.
General tab:


Action tab:
List = ZPRODQTY, query name created in graphical query tool

Add new menu item ‘ZVIEWQUERY_NAVIGATION’.
Link type: Function (Classic)
Function: ZVIEWQUERY


Add the menu item in the navigation page. And the user should be able access the queries from navigation page now.

To display the query in home page or landing. You need to add new menu item.
Code: ‘ZVIEWQUERY_HOMEPAGE’.
Link type: Query
Request name: ZPRODQTY


Once gadget (menu item) created, you should able add the query at your landing page or home page.
